We were commissioned to create the visual identity for the Berlin Art Prize, an independent award annually honoring contemporary art from Berlin. Its aim is to support the city’s artists by establishing a non-institutional prize awarded by a select jury of local art professionals.
The jury selected 31 nominees and 3 winners to take part in the first Berlin Art Prize exhibition hosted in a 600sqm space in the heart of Berlin.
As part of our involvement we designed a 160 pages exhibition catalogue thematically revolving around the practice of honoring outstanding achievements. Besides an extensive essay on prizes and accolades in art the catalogue features a 96 pages full-color documentation of the exhibited work from the 2013 Berlin Art Prize exhibition.
